Diablo switch competition 12/4 twitter10/19/2023 ![]() ![]() Too bad it didn't come out in time for more languages to copy it. ![]() for my money Rust nailed that so perfectly with the `mut` keyword. Aside from that, no warnings basically works well. I find the no warnings thing to be most annoying when I'm iterating in dev and don't want to remove interim variables that I know I'm going to use (or put `_ =` in front of them). ![]() Very fair starting with the language's strengths, and the nit part felt entirely fair - some of these come off with the author having a major axe to grind, but not here. IMO strong argument this package should expose more API. The only customization knob `encoding/json` gives you is `json.Marshaler`, which takes no parameters, and doesn't go very far. ⤿ I listen to Breaking Points and Krystal's rationale is that if companies don't spend $ on buybacks, then it'll be used to (a) pay employees more, or (b) charge less.So it'd be more like the baristas at Starbucks or factory workers at John Deere for example. ⤿ True, but to represent her as accurately as possible, Krystal's almost exclusively concerned with blue-collar jobs AKA labor AKA people without stock options.Buybacks are one of the many things cited by that camp as proof that businesses are bad which means taxes should be higher and government should be bigger, which conveniently, is the result they'd like to see anyway.) 7 months ⤿ (And TBC, I don't think the argument is entirely good faith.Think time-to-MFA is finally something we can measure in weeks instead of months. ⤿ Without going into too much boring detail, we had some dependencies that needed to be burned down first.Bigger than my first computer's entire hard drive. Honestly, even as bad as all this JavaScript stuff has gotten, I can barely believe this.Scary to think what they'll come up with next TBH. ![]()
